Day 296/365: Oct 23, 2014

I’m thankful for:

  • A beautiful tropical view from our living room window, every day.
  • Getting photos printed while the toddler plays on the playground.
  • The flavorful crunch of a homemade falafel paired with the creamy zing of dressing.

Tropical view helps us forget the tropical humidity.

I’m thankful for:

  • A girls only outing to the National Orchid Garden.
  • Being greeted by my toddler when I walked in the door.
  • A great last day of the visit with our 5 dear guests.

An orchid in “Grandma Green.”

Day 288/365: Oct 15, 2014

I’m thankful for:

  •  A cheap visit to the doctors for meds to help the hubby feel better.
  • My favorite peanut butter waffle so far in Singapore.
  • Having a bus card for the >90cm toddler to ride free.

Too young to have a bus card… 😉

Day 287/365: Oct 14, 2014

I’m thankful for:

  • Exploring the Henderson Waves Bridge.
  • Making silly smiles and faces on the bus to pass the time
  • Taking my niece with me on errands & being mistaken for her mom.

They’d rather run than “wave” on the Henderson Waves Bridge.

Day 286/365: Oct 13, 2014

I’m thankful for:

  • Falling asleep after taking care of middle-of-the night toddler needs.
  • Crock pot recipes that make quick and tasty work of dinner cooking.
  • Hearing excited stories (and pictures later) of sight seeing.

Photo cred: Brother-in-law.

Day 285/365: Oct 12, 2014

I’m thankful for:

  • Trying Bakwa for the first time and loving it!
  • Realizing my niece and nephew were having too much fun in Sunday school to leave “on time.”
  • Using our good oven to crank out enough pizza for 8 hungry eaters.

Bakwa! Like the goodness of jerky and bacon put together in a sweet and salty pork treat 🙂

I’m thankful for:

  • A fun boat ride.
  • Not getting rained on whilst stranded on an island.
  • Hearing my teenage nephew excitedly describe the awesome conveyor belt at the sushi restaurant.

The island we visited.
