Day 219/365: Aug 7, 2014

I’m thankful for:

  • The cream inside a boston creme donut.
  • The order of snack -> play ground -> shopping -> taxi home -> nap.
  • My husband pulling me close for a hug, just because.

Using up energy at the playground before shopping.

Day 217/365: Aug 5, 2014

I’m thankful for:

  • Play dough cheering up a toddler.
  • Cool looks being passed down to the next generation.
  • The household gecko surviving (or so it would seem) the washer.

It is “possible” it crawled in quickly as I opened the door… but from where I stood it seemed like the creature was there when I opened the door. I guess he’s a clean (if albeit traumatized) gecko!

Day 95/365: Apr 5, 2014

I’m thankful for:

  • The Lord wanting relationship and communication even though he already knows our thoughts.
  • Pizza and Phase Ten with friends.
  • Classic [children’s] literature: Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel.

Bed time story as read by “Grandpa” Drew.

Day 87/365: Mar 28, 2014

I’m thankful for:

  • The only boxes in the living room being unpacked/disassembled.
  • Having the living room presentable (and welcoming, I hope) home group this evening.
  • A productive week and feeling more at home with each passing day.

I’ll have to take a picture in daylight, but I’m thrilled to not have boxes in the middle of the living room any more! Yippee!

Day 82/365: Mar 23, 2014

I’m thankful for:

  • A growing pile of unpacked and disassembled boxes.
  • A kiddie pool with a slide at our new home.
  • The smile that the pool produces on the face of our toddler.

I think the expression on his face is self-explanatory.

Day 80/365: Mar 21, 2014

I’m thankful for:

  • Efficient and friendly movers finishing before lunch time!
  • A toddler seeming to settle in to the new home well.
  • A few boxes unpacked and a nice tower centerpiece.

If only the unpacking elves would work while we sleep, now that would be amazing!

Day 70/365: Mar 11, 2014

I’m thankful for:

  • The joy of seeing little boy clothes hung out to dry.
  • Pushing a lighter stroller because the toddler likes to run.
  • Feeling slightly re-energized by a 15 minute power nap.

Run, run, run … then sit in the stroller.
