Day 148/365: May 28, 2014

I’m thankful for:

  • Being able to sleep long naps on the plane along with the toddler.
  • A spanking new airport (Hamad International Airport).
  • An empty seat (i.e.: extra space) on the Dream Liner for our last leg.

Oh the view never gets old!

Day 147/365: May 27, 2014

I’m thankful for:

  • Packing all luggage in time.
  • My mom kindly forgiving the mess I left behind in a hurry.
  • One last quick visit with cousins before shooting off to the airport.

One grandma with a full heart on a full chair!

Day 121/365: May 1, 2014

I’m thankful for:

  • Enjoying another farm/zoo complete with a petting farm.
  • Ordering Chipotle ahead of time through an app. Smart.
  • Shrieking and streaking of cousins having fun together.

I’m only sad our time with our temporary Texans came to an end so quickly.

Day 120/365: Apr 30, 2014

I’m thankful for:

  • “The animal kingdom” (the affectionate term for the two cousins) visiting The San Antonio Zoo.
  • Eating Texas bbq.
  • Getting away for a date night at the Riverwalk.

The “animal kingdom” hand in hand.

Days 107-109/365: Apr 19, 2014

The last few days were stretched out. Or shortened. Stretched because it took about 31 hours after we left our home until we arrived at my mom’s house. Shortened because all of that happened during April 18. Time zones and viewpoints can be two very different things. As travel was my primary goal in the recent days, I am now catching up on my thankful posts:

Day 107 – April 17

I’m thankful for:

  • Getting packed.
  • A great reason to travel back to our homeland.
  • Finding a midnight snack of a crispy chicken sandwich with a sesame bun. Delicious.

Loved the soft and slightly bun with the crunchy and spicy chicken. Normally I’m not a big fan of fast food, but this was delicious.

108 – April 18

I’m thankful for:

  • Answers to prayer that the toddler would do well with the long flights.
  • An awesome playground in the airport during our layover.
  • A safe arrival in the US of A.

There’s nothing like having a toddler tire himself out running around excitedly before the next long flight.

Day 109: Apr 19, 2014

I’m thankful for:

  • Socks (something I never use back in the warm SG climate).
  • Meeting my nephew for the first time!
  • The Uncle allowing his daughter and nephew to be his sous chefs.

Both the munchkins kept snitching dough and pizza sauce. The chef took it in stride.

Day 38/365: Feb 8, 2014

I’m thankful for:

  • Lost AND found luggage! (Delivered to the doorstep too!)
  • Grandma + grandson hugs.
  • Game night.

HUG!

Day 38/365: Feb 7, 2014

I’m thankful for:

  • Waking up extra early to see my mom.
  • Finding my mom at the airport. (We stood within roughly 100 feet of each other for about 20 minutes without realizing it!)
  • The evidence of my mom in our home: purple and “grandma green.”

Say “hello” to vibrant colors, and “goodbye” (temporarily) to a boring guest room.
